“RUFF FOR ZAM PRESIDENT” – Calls For Stronger ZAMCOPS, Producer Credit & Genre Expansion.

"Ruff Calls For Major Reforms In Zambian Music Industry"

Zambian artist and industry voice Ruff has spoken out on what he believes needs to change in the Zed music industry.

In a bold statement, Ruff said “the industry requires stronger royalty protections through ZAMCOPS, better recognition for producers, and an expansion of music genres to attract wider international audiences” .

According to Ruff, artists and producers are not getting their fair share, and without proper structures, Zambian music will struggle to compete globally.

He emphasized that ZAMCOPS needs to be more effective in collecting and distributing royalties so that both artists and producers benefit every time their music is played.

Ruff also called for more respect and credit for producers, who he says are the backbone of the sound but often go unrecognized.

Finally, he urged the industry to push beyond the usual sounds and embrace more genres. This, he believes, will help Zambian music reach new international markets.

Ending his statement with “RUFF FOR ZAM PRESIDENT” Ruff made it clear he’s ready to lead the conversation on reform.

1. Stronger royalty protection through ZAMCOPS

2. Better recognition for producers

3. Expand music genres for international audiences
